Shreyas Iyer will join the Indian Test squad for the second Test against Australia to be played from Friday, February 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The right-handed batsman missed the first Test at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur due to a back injury. In his place it was Suryakumar Yadav who got his first Test cap. Iyer was cleared to play by the BCCI medical team after he "successfully completed his rehabilitation" at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
If Iyer makes it to the playing XI, then one of Suryakumar and KS Bharata has to make way for him. If Bharat falls, KL Rahul will most likely don with the gloves in that case.
